Joint Group Academy

The academic education of students is a cornerstone of our Joint German-Australian Research Group and is united under the umbrella of “The Joint Group Academy”. This includes manifold activities like student exchange, joint lectures or workshops.

From the beginning, the integration of university teaching has been an important aim of the Joint German Australian Research Group. A number of selected students from Germany have already completed their theses at the UNSW, and vice versa students from the UNSW have also been visiting the Technische Universität Braunschweig successfully.

Under the label “Joint Group Academy” university teaching is further integrated into the structures of the Joint Research Group. Excellent students are selected based on multi-stage application processes for manifold activities like student exchanges, joint lectures, workshops or the joint summer school. For example, the workshop “Think Holistically” is going to be held annually within the International Summer Programme SENSE – Science and Engineering Summer Experience – to educate international students and encourage enthusiasm and qualification within the research topics sustainable manufacturing and life cycle management.
