The 3rd CIRP International Conference on Industrial Product Service Systems (IPS²) 2011 has also taken place in Braunschweig in 2011 (back to back to CIRP LCE 2011).
The 3rd CIRP Industrial Product Service Systems Conference (IPS²) 2011 respects that manufacturers in developed countries today regard service activities as increasingly important. Some manufacturing firms are strategically shifting from a “product seller” towards a “service provider”. Thus, the concept named Industrial Product-Service Systems (IPS²) has been obtaining attention. An IPS² is defined as “an integrated product and service offering that delivers value in use”. This conference will focus on industrial and academic knowledge/experiences with PSS and various business activities that support PSS. The 3rd IPS² conference was organized by the Product- and Life-Cycle-Management Research Group at the Technische Universität Braunschweig with support of Prof. Sami Kara and Wen Li from the Sydney Team.
